The pickups are HUM FREE and are designed to
deliver an even and balanced tone all along the fretboard.

so you can perform you music in the maximum comfort and creativity.
|
|
|
|
The neck to body joint is crucial for the
instrument's tone.
We put the maximum care into making a tight fitting neck pocket on the FRUDUA GFJ basses to make sure that the maximum amount of tone
and
sustain travels freely from the nut to the bridge.
|
|
|
| The GFJ
nut is professionally shaped with the strings sitting half way
into their slots.
|
|
|
| The
FRUDUA GFJ bass neck heel is shaped to allow easy access to the higher fretboard positions while
it's massive and stiff to finely transmit
strings vibration and tone from the neck to the body for maximum
sustain.
|
|
|
|
The neck is attached with 6 screws and goes in all the way
to the first pickup, a design called
"bolt through".
This allows a larger space where the neck connects with the body and that improves the resonance throughout. |
|
|
|
Everyone of us has his own preference when it's up to

The FRUDUA GFJ pickups are classic JB with an extra single coil added in,
so you have the front pickup and bridge pickup
configuration and you also have humbucker option.
NOTE it's not humbucker + single coil. It's 3 single coil
which makes it really sounds like a JB and not like a tapped humbucker.
If you play a JB then you'll be used to have single coil pickups. One of the limitation with it is that
the sound we are getting from the back pickup is very punchy but is also quite thin so a lot of more time
with a JB you will dial in more bass on the amp.
|

|
Pushing the bridge volume pot enables the middle pickup.
|
If you play something like a MM you'll have an humbucker which makes the sound fatter naturally
but you are missing a TRUE single coil sound which prevents you from playing many styles.
The FRUDUA GFJ kind of gets us round that problem.
So with the single coil you get a slightly toppier and grindier sound
while with the humbucker you get a lot more of the bottom end.
Just press the volume pot in and you can hear that the sound instantly fattens up.
NOISELESS
You probably had a lot of basses that you plugged in especially when you're dealing with
single coils and you can get a lot of buzz and hum.
The FRUDUA GFJ pickups themselves ARE NOISELESS you can put this into the test running them
through distortion pedals, fuzz, synths and the amp cruncked.
They always deliver very very good signal to noise balance so you can have the best performance
recording and live.
|
There's a custom eq built in the FRUDUA GFJ BASS
for both passive and active modes.
So you have the option: in passive mode a large round smooth sound that is going to blend well
in a mix or in active mode something with a bit more bite to help to cut through.
By switching to active mode it engages that, by switching it in the passive mode
the bass functions perfectly well in passive
mode with what's called true bypass. Means that you can remove the battery the bass still works fine.
|

|
PASSIVE MODE
If you're used to play a passive JB style bass you'll be familiar with one
knob controlling the front pickup volume, one knob controlling your
back pickup volume and one knob as a passive tone control.
|

|
Passive tone control is used to take top end off. So you can't actually boost
the treble in but you can go from the standard sound to a more muffle rounder sound.
As you take the tone control down you cut a lot of that brightness in the top end
which can be great if you want to replicate the sound of vintage basses think to
the sixties Motown stuff, Dubb reggae
anything that need that old school sound in it, rolling that treble control off put you bass back into that vibe.
The two active tone controls (bass and treble) DO NOT work on the FRUDUA GFJ when the bass is in PASSIVE MODE.
ACTIVE MODE
When you switch to active mode the passive tone is excluded by the
circuitry and the two active controls are switched on.
The first things you'll
notice is that the active mode has more output; the volume goes up also and the top end is quite
a lot more aggressive while the bottom end has a little more depth in it.
|

|
You can of course control the eq and tailor it to the sound you need.
For example for a nice slap sound you'll bring both your pickup volumes up, you're gonna back a little
of the treble off and turn a little of the basses up, so you're gonna hear that it's got brightness
it's got punch, it's got enough depth in the sound to get a really good focused and quite hi tech slap sound.
The concept behind this EQ is to keep the signal path as clear as possible so by keeping that simple
you get a massive number of options. So there's lots of varieties here in all of the tones regardless
of what style you play the sound it's more than you can going to be in here.
